Cellar Tracker

Cellar Tracker is a great way of keeping track of your wine bottles. I have entered all of my wine that I have and it's kind of scary on how many bottles you accumulate without realizing it. I think it might be time for another wine party. Even if you are just starting out drinking wine, this is a good place to note the wine and what you thought of it. I know my memory sucks, so this really helps. You also get other peoples comments and when you should drink it, it's not always the day you buy it. The only draw back is that you can list the price of the wine, sometimes you don't want to know how much you have spent on this little habit.

Wild Women on Wine

I just joined Wild Women on Wine and the men that love them or drive them. How cool is that? How many groups can you belong to that you meet great people, help people and drink wine? I knew this was going to be a perfect match for me. I went to my first meeting last night and everyone seemed so nice. So I volunteered to help serve the Area Football Team on Wednesday at Milla Vineyards, it should be fun. But you know I'm only doing this to have something to write about on my blog.

Paso Robles Wine Tasting

I went wine tasting with my DH and friend Kathy to Paso Robles this weekend. Our main mission was to pick up wine from Turley Winery, but of course, we had to make a few more stops on the way. We picked up some sandwiches headed out to 'The Far Out Wineries'. Well, they aren't kidding when they say that. The drive is beautiful, wild flowers all over and shade trees lining both sides of the road, just making you wish you had a convertible. Our first stops were at Norman and Whalebone Wineries, not bad wines, but nothing that I had to have. Whalebone had the cutest dogs and pretty much the only pictures I took that day. But you can see why.

Then we went to Nadeau and had lunch and Wow, what great wines there. Had to get a bottle of their Critical Mass 2005 Zinfandel and Westside 2005 Zinfandel. I thought I had found the jack pot, until we went to Pipestone. When we tried their 2004 Zinfandel, we couldn't believe it, fantastic. My friend Kathy doesn't even like red wine and she had to have a bottle. It seems like whenever we find a great wine 2004 is the year. Yes, you two I will share.

Nashville

I thought I would share some of my pictures from my Nashville trip, that my Mom and I took last October. My Mom wanted to visit two relatives in Munfordville, KY, that we think are related to us. Let me back up about 14 years ago. I was into my family history and came across Becky and Amy Rowlett, my Mom's side of the family. I started to send them letters and with all of our documents we are still not sure how we are related, but know and hope that we are. My Mom and her friend Alice were in Munfordville about 10 years ago and meet both Amy and Becky and just loved them. My Mom had been wanting to go back and visit them again and said to me, "I will pay for your way, if you want to go with me". That is all she had to say and off to Nashville we went. We flew into Nashville and headed up to Munfordville the next day. Becky and Amy were the nicest ladies, it felt like we had known them for years. Becky is 93 and I'm not sure how old Amy is, but they both still like to go places, even though they don't get around as well as the use to. They showed barns that were drying tobacco. Never saw that before, pretty cool. We went to Lincoln birthplace and Mammoth Caves. But I have to say my favorite thing to see while were were there, were the Amish people. We drove by areas that a lot of them live in and it was so cool. I know that sounds stupid, but it is so neat to see people that live such a different way then we do. I thought they wouldn't be very friendly, but I was wrong. As we drove slowly by their horse and buggy, they would smile and wave. I wish I could have taken pictures, but there religion forbids it.

Pearly Whites

Ryan finally got his braces off after 4/12 years. I think that might be a record. Of course, he thinks he looks better then ever.
